Nokia is working on RAW image support for both the 1520 and 1020 and reFocus app

Are you into mobile photography? Most of the specifications Nokia provide on the cameras on their phones have been a boon for mobile photographers. Bigger sensors, stereo recording, Optical Image Stabilization and so on.

What is the thing that is really missed out by a photographer that differentiates a DSLR from a mobile camera which carries huge sensors?

RAW image support. It is something every mobile photographer carved for since Nokia announced the phones with such big sensors like Nokia 808, Nokia Lumia 1020 etc. And they have listened to the crowd and announced they will add RAW image support at the Nokia Mobile World , most probably for Nokia Lumia 1020 and Nokia Lumia 1520.

Nokia also announced a new Refocus app, which will allow users to change the focus of images after the fact, due to the app creating a depth map of a picture. The pictures are 5 megapixel, and will work on Facebook , allowing viewers to also manipulate the pictures. Any ways you can take a pic and choose your focus later, works great for shooting kids or flowers and city scenes.

You can check out one image how it works from this official Nokia source : http://refocus.nokia.com/
