Ranbir turns out to be Bipasha’s best buddy
Ranbir Kapoor and Bipasha Basu actually got along like a house on fire while shooting for their film Bachna Ae Haseeno and they continue to share a healthy respect for one another.
In the three years since Bachna, the Bengali bombshell and B-town’s most sought-after bachelor have constantly stayed in touch sharing secrets of their personal relationships and chatting like real buddies do. They would go for long drives and dinners. Sometimes John joined them too. Today, however, both are single. Bips has ended her nine-year-old relationship with John and Ranbir, who is reportedly wanting to spend some ‘me time’, is also alone.
In fact, he is currently in London, reading books at the Hyde Park; walking around without an agenda and doing his own thing. But one hears that he is always there to lend Bipasha a shoulder.
A source says, “Even when Ranbir was dating Deepika and Katrina, he usually confided in Bipasha about everything. Likewise, she would also share her innermost thoughts and fears with him. At that point, she was blissed out in her relationship with John and would actually tell RK Junior how lucky she felt to be in a steady relationship. Obviously, post her break-up, one of the people she has been confiding in is Ranbir.
Bipasha, however, said, “I don’t need no shoulder to cry on please! Yes, Ranbir and I are friends, but we are busy all the time. So we meet once in a while.”
Angela Jonsson dumps Ranbir Kapoor for Shahid Kapoor
Swimsuit model Angela Jonsson is discarding men in her life faster than you would discard a swimsuit. Just days after she was linked to Bollywood’s Casanova Ranbir Kapoor, it is rumoured that she has left him for another Kapoor boy-Shahid Kapoor.
After the model was seen cozying up with Ranbir at his residence and various nightclubs, buzz is that she has moved on to Shahid Kapoor and all for the sake of publicity. Buzz is that her ‘Kapoor boys escapades’ are an attempt to break in to the industry and dining with A-listers is surely the easiest way to get spotted.
A source told Mumbai Mirror, “Ranbir hardly knew Angela. However, being a ladies’ man, he reciprocated to her overtures with much gusto. But he never thought he’d get linked up with her. Apparently, photographers were told to click Ranbir with Ms Jonsson in public. Somehow, these pictures always made their way to the media.”
However, when Ranbir realised what the young starlet was up to he immediately stopped taking her calls or entertaining her at all. Undeterred by Ranbir’s dismissal, Jonsson has reportedly moved onto Shahid Kapoor. “So what’s wrong in her being seen with happening young guys? Every heroine aspires to do the same. Angela just succeeded in her strategy. Why grudge her that?” A young actress told the tabloid. Seems like Ranbir has met his match!
Ranbir Kapoor upset with Ranveer Singh
His parents Neetu and Rishi Kapoor are travelling and RK Junior has been living it up big time. When there’s a party in Bollywood, there’s no fun unless there are some shindigs or shenanigans. That’s exactly what happened at Ranbir’s, says a source.
Apparently Anushka Sharma, Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh and a few others were dancing the night away; when a slightly tipsy Ranveer suggested to Ranbir that he should play the remixed version of Dum Maaro Dum with Deepika Padukone in it for the umpteenth time. “What’s more Ranveer apparently started discussing Deepika at length telling Ranbir that Dippy was the hottest girl he dated,” says our source. “Ranveer who is usually very loud and crass even went a step ahead and added that the line in the Dum Maro Dum song, Pant Khichega Ki Nahi… was intended at RK Junior. Naturally Ranbir wasn’t one bit amused. And he made his displeasure evident by asking Ranveer to shut up. Even Anushka asked her Band Baaja Baraat co-star to shut his mouth. But Ranveer wouldn’t listen.”
The party ended, alcohol levels came down and everyone went their respective ways. However, there is stress between Ranveer and Ranbir, says one of the guests. Chances are Ranveer may not end up partying with RK Jr for a long time. Unless, of course, Ranveer learns to keep his tongue in check the next time around.
Ranbirs Party for his friends
The Kapoor Khandaan has been known for their swinging parties since the times of the first RK. But lately, except for the yearly Ganesh Chaturthi, hardly anyone got to hear of an RK bash. The fourth generation Kapoor lad, Ranbir has however managed to break the norm.
On Wednesday night, with his parents away and their Pali Hill bungalow Krishna Raj empty, Ranbir announced his first ever Bollywood bash. A little spur of the moment, the party which was supposed to be kept under wraps was reported by Mumbai Mirror yesterday. And now we bring to you the juicy details of what went on behind the closed doors of the rather impressive venue.
Ace photographer Atul Kasbekar zoomed in to the party in his car with a pretty girl in the back seat. An eyewitness even called her ‘pouty’. Going by the description, we thought it could be Ranbir’s latest ‘friend’ Angela Jonsson.
But then again, wasn’t she in Bangalore for an assignment till evening, on that very day? But looks like, when it comes to choosing between work and Ranbir’s house party, the latter wins hands down. At least for this Kingfisher calendar girl.
According to a friend of the model, the girl was supposed to come back to town after finishing her ad shoot on Thursday evening. Well, she either worked real fast or simply decided to give Ranbir the first preference.
And that of course, does not come as a surprise. After all we told you (on May 3) how close Jonsson is to the young Kapoor these days. The two had practically been inseparable over the last few weeks. In just two weeks, interestingly, this girl has achieved what only his formal (read media certified) girlfriends Sonam, Deepika and Katrina had till date: crossing the threshold of Krishna Raj!
The news of the party meant to be kept under wraps, reached the media. And the paparazzi armed with cameras reached the venue much before the guests started trickling in, dumping a bucket of water on Kapoor’s plans for the night.
To avoid further controversies, Ranbir did not even get too close to Angela throughout the night. Revealed a source, “We don’t know why. We think it was because he didn’t want her to be captured by the media in Krishna Raj.
He perhaps told her not to come. But by then it was too late, she had already landed in Mumbai and was racing towards Pali Hill.”
Ranbir Kapoor is all set to pay tribute to his father
Famous mama’s boy, Ranbir Kapoor has now come up with an ingenious idea to show his love for his father Rishi Kapoor. In his first-ever ‘item 
number,’ for the film Chillar Party, Ranbir has paid a special tribute to his superstar father’s character, Akbar, from Amar Akbar Anthony (<
related stories. The song was shot last week at Goregaon’s Film City. Ranbir’s qawaali performance appears directly derived from the track Purdah hai purdah… from the Manmohan Desai blockbuster.
The young actor has been an admirer of Amar Akbar Anthony since he was a kid. And while the masala entertainer had seen Kapoor Sr don a very different appearance from his usual looks, as part of a qawaali group, Ranbir follows his father’s footsteps in a kiddie flick.
Titled Tayyn tayyn fissh…, the song has been composed by Amit Trivedi of Dev D (2009) fame, and has been choreographed by Bosco-Caeser.
Talking about Ranbir’s look, Chillar Party director Vikas Bahl says, “As an actor, Ranbir keeps improvising. And when it came to the ‘inspired’ look in the song, he was prompt to come up with the idea to have a similar kind of headgear, moustache and paan-chewing look as his father in Amar Akbar Anthony.”
Like Rishi Kapoor, Ranbir dons the look of a tapori, complete with kohl in his eyes, a cupped topi (hat) on his head, a thin moustache and paan in his mouth, making his lips go red. In fact, he took up the offer to do the special song just so he gets to pay tribute to his father’s much-loved character.
“Akbar happens to be one of my favourite characters from Bollywood too. And I was confident about experimenting with Ranbir. I won’t call his look exactly like his father’s in Amar Akbar Anthony but it’s definitely an inspiration,” says Vikas.
According to Vikas, Ranbir’s personal creative inputs have made the song special. “With him, you are inspired to think out of the box,” says the director, who is anxious to hear Rishi Kapoor’s reaction to Ranbir’s look. “We haven’t yet shown the song to Mr Kapoor. We hope that it will be a nice surprise for him. We are eager to know whether he approves of the song or not,” smiles Vikas. He adds that he is still working on the editing: “The song will take another 15-20 days to complete.
