Actor Ranbir Kapoor has been extra busy from the past couple of months.
The actor, who’s last release, Rockstar was appreciated by critics and fans alike, has only taken his job much more seriously, post the success of the film. Ranbir who was shooting back-to-back for Rockstar hasn’t taken a break post the film as well.
After the film released, he dived headlong into his other projects — Barfee with Priyanka Chopra and his next film with Deepika Padukone, a love story by Ayan Mukerjee. The actor is apparently so busy with a choc-a-bloc schedule that he hasn’t had the time to read any scripts or green light any more projects.
One among the scores of directors, who seems to be waiting is filmmaker Prakash Jha.
The actor who played one of the most pivotal roles in his political drama — Rajneeti, apparently does not have any dates to allot. Jha, who has already expressed his interest to work with Ranbir, is waiting to hear from him. He only wants Ranbir for the sequel which is rumoured to be the remake of Tamil blockbuster Ko. A source close to the actor says, “Jha and Ranbir have spoken about doing a sequel and talks have been on. Though his schedule is choc-a-bloc, Ranbir hasn’t said an outright no. He has asked him to give him some time to sort out his date issues and re-work his schedule.”
Interestingly, if the grapevine is to be believed, actor Akshay Kumar has expressed his desire to work with the filmmaker and was also being considered for the part. But Jha, who has worked with Ranbir is very fond of him and wants to cast only him in the film.
The source adds, “Akshay was very keen to do the film. Apparently, he was also in talks with him to do the film, but looks like Jha prefers Ranbir over Akshay. That is probably because he shares a certain comfort level with him.”
